SMSnatcher is a lyric scraper written in Java which finds and saves lyrics from LyricWiki and SongMeanings and writes them to MP3 tags.
The lyrics can then be displayed in a media player.

If you find a bug please report it or it’ll never get fixed.
Verify that it hasn’t already been submitted and then log a new bug.

SMSnatcher early alpha

It doesn't look pretty, but this is an early alpha. Fun stuff comes later.

 

 

SMSnatcher is (or will be) a SongMeanings.net lyric snatcher based in Python.

GUI provided by PyQt, for the technically inclined.

Features:

  • Fuzzy title / artist match
  • URL caching to speed up future artist / song requests
  • Save directly to MP3 tags to display in media players / iPhone / iPod etc.

I’m still working on getting the lyrics in a readable and sane format before writing, but I hope to have this done soon. Pics and video forthcoming.
